Abstract

Empowering citizens, recently, takes a pivotal role in urban management participation. Therefore, the current research aims at investigating into the relationship empowering citizens and participation in managing cities and, also, offering methods for empowering citizens, encouraging them to more cooperate and to actively participate in managing cities. The research is applied, purpose-wise, and follows a descriptive surveying method. To collect data, a questionnaire has been utilized and the research population was all above-15-year-olds dwelling in the district 18 of Tehran municipality. Via random sampling and upon Morgan table, the sample size was decided to be 384 participants. Research data were analyzed descriptively and inferentially. The results show that there is a significant positive relationship between empowering citizens and their participation in managing cities. Moreover, the results show that the extent of empowerment and participation is lower than the average. Based on the obtained results, it is argued that any measure to empower citizens and to improve their participation is necessary and any effort to empower citizens to improve the extent of their participation in managing cities will be effective and beneficial.

Abstract

Empowerment is a process in which an individual will be aware of his needs, internal demands, and capabilities, and acquire necessary abilities aiming to achieve requests. Native notion of socio-economic empowerment, effective factors on growth and its barriers were studied by two qualitative (grounded theory) and quantitative (correlation analysis) in this research. Depth interview techniques, and focus group discussions, and participatory and direct observation were used for qualitative data collection, and Scott and GYF questionnaire was used for 111 samples for quantitative data collection in order to examine the obstacles of women’s empowerment based on three factors: attitude and the amount of experience, training, and women’s socio-economic status (employment) in the form of 33 items. The qualitative results show that employment, balancing income and expenses, savings and entrepreneurship have influential and determining role in continuation and sustainability of people’s economic empowerment. The overall results of qualitative research show that some relatives who live together, family-orientation, social capital, cooperation, social correlation, and supporting each other are some effective factors on empowerment growth. Also, the results of quantitative research indicate that two factors: training and employment are the most important effective factors on vulnerable women’s empowerment in empowerment staff of Tehran Municipality.

Abstract

Organizational change is one of the most important issues in organizational behavior management that many studies have been done regarding the role of this factor in improving organizational efficiency and achieving to organizational goals. One of the factors that have an influential role in organizational efficiency and success is psychological empowerment of employees. Today, in new management, strategic and structural plans of leading organizations are formulated consistent with the development and enhancement of its manpower. In this regard, attention to the role of organizational culture is of great importance to achieve this objective. For this purpose and given the diversity of organizational culture models, in this research, different organizational culture patterns have been investigated, and then, the role of organizational culture in improving psychological empowerment of employees to attain competitive advantage at Bank Shahr was studied. The results indicated that organizational culture has positive, direct and significant impact on improving psychological empowerment of Bank Shahr employees. In this regard, improvement of organizational culture or its failure leads to an increase or decrease in the psychological empowerment of employees. Accordingly, this has a direct impact on their economic efficiency. Furthermore, the study of the model in terms of goodness of fit showed that the theoretical model is statistically significant and the theoretical concept is practical, and in terms of the desirability of fitness, according to the statistics calculated by statistical software, it is estimated in an acceptable situation.

Abstract

Today, human resources management is one of the most important duties of organizational managers. They confront with issues such as job motivation, organizational learning and psychological empowerment. This study was conducted to investigate the impact of job motivation on organizational learning and psychological empowerment of municipal employees of Yasooj. In terms of purpose, research method is applied and it is descriptive –correlative in terms of data collection. The statistical population included all of Yasuj municipal employees among them 146 people were selected as a sample by using Cochran formula and simple random sampling method. The research tools consisted of three questionnaires: Herzberg Professional Motivation (1984), Neife’s Organizational Learning (2001) and Spreader’s Psychological Empowerment (1995). Their validity and reliability were confirmed. Regression test was used for data analysis. The most important findings show that job motivation illustrates 0.039 of organizational learning variance and 0.122 of the variance of psychological empowerment of employees, which indicates that job motivation has the ability to predict changes in organizational learning and psychological empowerment. Therefore, job motivation has significant impact on organizational learning and psychological empowerment of municipal employees.

Abstract

The historical fabric of Shiraz, with all its special features, has been a place to meet the needs of the people and help the economy of the neighborhoods and the city, but now it does not have the ability to integrate economically with the new parts of the city and is losing its competitive advantages and causing the cost of living. And the work has been done in it and it does not have the ability to solve its economic problems and have a greater impact on the city's economy. The aim of this research is to find a solution for empowering the historical context of Shiraz by using its valuable features and economic capacities to play an economic role in the city, for this reason, the current research tries to explain the pattern of economic empowerment of the historical context of Shiraz. This research is derived from the paradigm of interpretivism, its approach is inductive, the type of research is applied-developmental and its nature is descriptive-analytical, it falls under the category of qualitative approaches, the method of collecting data is documentary, survey and purposeful sampling method, its data analysis is based on The basis of open, axial and selective coding is used to explain the model from the strategies of the Foundation's data theory. In order to achieve the goal, semi-structured in-depth interviews were conducted with 11 tissue experts, including tissue users and users. The collected documents were analyzed in 112 open codes, 81 concepts, 28 sub-categories and 10 main categories. The model obtained shows that in the economic empowerment of Shiraz's historical context, "education, training and consultation", "competitiveness", "innovation and entrepreneurship", "flexibility" and "diversity of facilities and financing" should be put on the agenda. Also, at the same time as "assessing the needs and organizing activities" in the framework of "regulations and rules of financing", the field of "popular participation and cooperation" and "economic creativity" should be provided to result in the strengthening of "belonging to the place" in this context with special economic capacity. be made
