The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of using information and communication technology and emerging energies on the health costs of Iranian households during the years 1997-2021 using a non-linear auto-regression model with distribution breaks. According to the results, based on the results of ARDL, the first break of health expenses had a positive and significant effect on the health expenses of the current period. On the other hand, information and communication technology, emerging energy and renewable energy consumption have had a negative and significant effect on health costs, and the trade variable has a positive effect on health costs, but it is not significant. Based on the short-term results of NARDL, positive shocks of information and communication technology variables, renewable energy consumption, and trade have a negative and significant impact on health costs, and a positive shock of the emerging energy variable has a positive but insignificant effect; The negative shocks of the variables of renewable energy consumption and trade have a positive and significant impact, the negative shock of the emerging energy variable has a positive and significant impact, and the negative shock of the information technology variable has also had a negative but insignificant impact on health costs. The results of the long-term estimation of the nonlinear model also indicated that the positive shocks of information and communication technology, renewable energy consumption, and trade reduce health costs and are significant, and the impact of the positive shock of the emerging energy variable on health costs was positive but insignificant. Also, the negative shocks of the emerging energy variables, renewable energy consumption and trade have a positive and significant impact, and the negative shocks of the information technology variable have a positive and insignificant impact on health costs.
